The diameter quoted is measured at the bottom of the pole, i.e. the thicker end is within the range quoted, while the top the pole will be thinner.

We offer two species of bamboo:

The first (orchard) is ideal as a support for plants and outdoor applications. It is characterised by its brown-green colour, thick walls, smooth nodes and high resistance to changing weather conditions. They are the subject of this auction.

The second species is decorative bamboo - yellow with prominent nodes. It is primarily suitable for indoor use (it darkens quickly outside). They are designated with the word DECOR in the auction title.

We have been importing bamboo poles for nearly 30 years - we have checked many suppliers and provide the best quality bamboo - not necessarily the cheapest.

Bamboo poles are a raw material of natural origin, distinguished by their high strength and resistance to adverse weather conditions; they are insensitive to temperature changes and do not absorb water. For this reason, bamboo poles work well for both houseplants and garden plants. What's more, they are resistant to breakage, yet flexible enough to provide the plant with stable support and safe growth. Additionally, bamboo poles are very easy to install and to extend already existing structures. You only need one pole to support a plant - you can, of course, insert two or three to create different structures to stiffen the given plant. The plant is either tied or pinned to the poles.

Poles up to 100 cm are fantastic for use in domestic pots or as a support for low plants grown outdoors, such as cucumbers, blueberries etc.

Slightly longer poles will be used for low trees, but also for vines, tomatoes and other backyard crops. They also perform well in plant nurseries.

Bamboo poles over 200 cm provide high quality support for trees and plants with long stems, such as beans. They can also be used as building elements for various structures such as ladders, pergolas or even gazebos.

In addition to their height, an important parameter for poles is their thickness.

For example: the thinnest poles (e.g. 6/8 mm) are chosen for light and delicate plants such as clematis. For tomatoes, we recommend diameters of approx. 2 cm (18/20 mm, 20/22 mm).

For larger trees, 240 cm high poles with a diameter of 24/26 or 30/35 mm are best.
